Haggen Food & Pharmacy

If you live in California/Arizona/Nevada and are planning your weekly grocery run to Albertsons or Safeway, your neighborhood store might have a new name, overnight!

Haggen Food & Pharmacy, founded in 1933, will grow its market share of stores from 18 to 164 over the next 3-4 months. As part of the Albertsons & Safeway merger, 146 stores were sold to the Haggen family (and a private investment firm) and will be rebranded to Haggen. The not-so-small-anymore grocery chain is headquartered in Bellingham, Washington and, until now, has only had a presence in the Pacific Northwest. A second headquarters for the Pacific Southwest operations is now open in Irvine, CA.

Haggen stores use fresh, locally sourced meats, seafood, dairy and produce; to view a list of producers, go to http://www.haggen.com/our-producers/.

Stores in Carlsbad are located at 7600 El Camino Real and 955 Carlsbad Village Dr in Carlsbad, CA.

Oceanside-based Federal Heath Sign is handling the conversion of 100 stores in California, Nevada and Arizona. The first installation was recently completed in Carlsbad, CA, just a few miles from the Oceanside plant, and included channel letters at the storefront, a medallion shaped sign cabinet with a channel letter “H”, and some monument sign panels. www.federalheath.com
