Interior Signage

Interior Signage is a great way to improve customer experience and a great opportunity to reinforce a brand. The quality of the signs and how they are placed reflects directly on business ownership and the value placed on their product or service.

What message is the sign conveying?

Signage or graphics placed in window are meant to catch the attention of passers-by, requiring a simple and easily understandable message. Directional signage however, should contain a greater amount of information but remain as easy to read as possible.

Place signs strategically

It is tempting to put a sign on every aisle, wall, or even on the floor; but being selective about placement is critical. The purpose of interior signage is to ensure customers are getting the information they require without overwhelming them and creating stressful environment. Try and choose specific locations where signage will be displayed for maximum impact and limit additional locations.

Handwritten signs are usually BAD

Usually, handwritten signs are not suggested because they look homemade and shoddy. One notable exception is bar and restaurant specials displayed on a chalkboard.

Permanently attach signs to surfaces

Use brackets, sign holders, and frames to affix signage to surfaces. Taping and gluing of signs also appears unprofessional and shoddy, and customers will notice.

Current information is critical for effectiveness

When information on the sign is old and non-applicable, make the required changes. Signs can be tailored to reflect yearly occasions and holidays. Product specials, promotions, and sales pricing information are all appropriate for highlighting with interior signage.
