Execution
The original architectural concept featured an operable water fountain as the centerpiece of each sign. However, due to long-term maintenance concerns, CHRISTUS Health opted against the water feature. In response, the architect redesigned the focal points as custom concrete structures.
Concrete, while durable, proved cost-prohibitive, particularly for the custom shapes envisioned. Federal Heath proposed an innovative solution: using Texcote-finished aluminum panels in place of concrete. This alternative provided the desired textured, and concrete-like appearance while offering a more cost-effective solution.
Unique Feature
What truly sets these signs apart is their multi-dimensional construction, which allows the CHRISTUS logo to be viewed from above—a thoughtful branding touch visible from multi-story buildings or aerial views.
Outcome
The result is a stunning, modern set of monument signs that deliver high impact both at ground level and from above—perfectly aligning with CHRISTUS Health’s forward-thinking identity while ensuring ease of maintenance and budget efficiency.
